“Crimes of Passion” street art exhibition

Crimes of passion exhibition

The Royal West Of England Academy in Bristol is hosting a major graffiti and street art exhibition between 21st March and 2nd May 2009 featuring many of the best-known artists from Bristol. I went along last Sunday to see what all the fuss was about. These are some of my pictures.

Painted rocks

The first thing you are greeted with are these painted rocks outside Royal Academy building. This sets the tone really.

Inflated missile

You won’t really notice this unless you get back from the building and uphill somewhat.

45RPM owl piece

This is a piece by 45RPM which is concealed in a strange sort of cabinet which has round openings so you can peer inside.

Crocodile mobile

This is a crocodile mobile piece by Rowdy I believe.

Nick Walker street art

This piece by Nick Walker is painted directly onto the wall of the gallery and will be covered over when the exhibition ends.

3d aerosol cans

These 3d aerosol cans are by Voyder.

Mural piece by dan

Great mural by Dan showing two street artists applying a stencil to a wall.

I really recommend this exhibition which surprised me with some hightly creative and unsual pieces. This is a real testimony to the diversity of street art in Bristol.
